The All India Coordinated Research Project on Integrated Farming Systems (AICRP-IFS) Main Centre, operating under the Department of Agronomy at the Directorate of Crop Management, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore, has achieved a remarkable milestone by receiving the prestigious Best Centre Award at the national level.
The award was conferred by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) – Indian Institute of Farming Systems Research (IIFSR), Modipuram, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The accolade was presented during the Biennial Workshop of AICRP on Integrated Farming Systems, hosted by Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. Recognized for its exemplary contributions to advancing sustainable agriculture, the Centre also received a special certificate for developing a bankable Integrated Farming System (IFS) technology tailored to the garden land ecosystem. This innovation underscores the Centre’s dedication to practical and scalable solutions that enhance resource use efficiency and farmer profitability.
In acknowledgment of this outstanding achievement, Dr.M.K.Kalarani, Director of Crop Management and Dr.P.Parasuraman, Professor and Head, Agronomy and AICRP-IFS team members (Dr.P.M.Shanmugam, Dr.K.Sivasubramanian, Dr.S.Senthilnathan, Dr.S.P.Sangeetha) met the Vice Chancellor of TNAU. In recognition of the various innovative farming system research works, TNAU AICRP-IFS centre has been conferred with Best Centre Award 2024 among 30 All India Coordinated Research Project on Farming Systems operated in different states in the country.
