Vinayaka Mission’s Law School (VMLS), through its Global Tamil Law Centre, in collaboration with the Legal Aid Clinic, organized a rally on International Mother Language Day to celebrate linguistic diversity and raise awareness about the importance of preserving mother tongues.
The event, led by Prof. Saravanan Ravi and Dr. Krishna Kishore Padala, emphasized the cultural, legal, and social significance of language rights. Students actively participated, highlighting the role of language in shaping identity, heritage, and access to justice.
As part of its commitment to inclusive and accessible legal education, VMLS actively promotes bilingual legal learning in Tamil and English through the Global Tamil Law Centre. This initiative ensures that legal knowledge is both comprehensive and widely accessible, enabling students and communities to engage with the law effectively.
During the rally, discussions focused on the importance of multilingual legal resources, the role of language in legal rights, and the necessity of protecting linguistic heritage. Participants emphasized the need for stronger policy measures to promote language inclusivity in legal education and governance.
The event reaffirmed VMLS’s dedication to fostering cultural awareness, advocating for linguistic rights, and strengthening multilingual legal education. By bridging the gap between language and law, VMLS continues to play a vital role in ensuring that legal education remains inclusive and accessible to all.
