International Women’s Day 2025 was celebrated at CVRDE (a unit of DRDO), Avadi, Chennai. on 12th March 2025 in a grand manner. A day long event was organized by the Women’s Cell of CVRDE to adopt this year campaign theme “Accelerate Action”.
In the forenoon session, the function was presided by Shri. J. Rajesh Kumar, Outstanding Scientist & Director, CVRDE and Chairman Women’s Cell along with Shri S Srinivasa Rao, Outstanding Scientist & Programme Director (PP), Smt. Jeyapradha Ganesh, Senior Member, Women’s Cell and Smt. Jayareena Rajesh Kumar, President, CVRDE Women’s Welfare Association (WWA).
The Chief Guest of the event Ms. Mariamma Thomas, Chief Post Master General, TN Circle inspired the audiences with her Motivational talk and appealed everyone to promote gender equality and foster inclusive growth in India. The event started with a welcome dance, followed by the welcome address by Smt. Jeyapradha Ganesh, Senior Scientist & Addl. Director (IT). Shri J Rajeshkumar, Outstanding Scientist & Director, CVRDE addressed the gathering and highlighted the organization’s initiatives in advancing the Women Employees Welfare activities.
The afternoon session was dedicated entirely for women employees of CVRDE & WWA. Various cultural programs including group and solo dance performance, group and solo singing etc. were organized and the event was concluded with high note.
