The Department of Chemistry, Pondicherry University organized two days International Conference on Frontiers in Chemical Sciences 2025 (ICFCS2025) to bring eminent scientists from abroad and India in one platform and discuss innovative ideas and latest advancements in Chemical Sciences.
In this conference, Dr. P. Thanasekaran (Convener) welcomed the gathering; Prof. C. Sivasankar, Chairman & HoD described about the Chemistry Department; The theme of the conference was presented by Prof. Rajneesh Bhutani (Registrar (i/c)), Pondicherry University; The dignitaries Prof. Tharanikkarasu (Vice-Chancellor (i/c)), and the chief guest Prof. Siva Umapathy, FASc, FRSC (J C Bose Fellow; Professor, IISc, Bangalore and Former Director, IISER Bhopal) were honored by the chemistry HoD.
The inaugural address was given by our Vice-Chancellor (i/c), Prof. Tharanikkarasu, Pondicherry University. He has delivered a very inspirational address and motivated the young researchers and students towards the research and development in chemical sciences. It was very much interactive and informative for all Faculty members, students and technical staffs.
Our Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Tharanikkarasu also described about the significance of chemical sciences in real life and also importance of this conference. He suggested all the student participants to make use of these two days and interact with the invited delegates came over here from different countries including Germany, France, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan and different regions of India. He also mentioned about theinfrastructure facilities and the teaching in the chemistry department is in the level of excellent.
Following to the inaugural address, Prof. Siva Umapathy (J C Bose Fellow; Professor, IISc, Bangalore, and Former Director, IISER Bhopal) has delivered a keynote address and then book of Abstracts was released. Finally, Prof. R. Padmanaban (Organizing Secretary) delivered a vote of thanks on behalf of the conference organizers. Prof. S. Sabiah (Joint-Secretary) hosted the function.
The event proceeded with the technical sessions such as plenary lectures, invited lectures and poster presentations by the participants. More than 400 participants were registered and attended the ICFCS-2025 meeting.
