Bank of India Celebrates 56th Nationalisation Day as ‘Kisan Diwas’ Across Chennai Zone

On the momentous occasion of its 56th Nationalisation Day, Bank of India proudly observed the day as ‘Kisan Diwas’, reaffirming its strong commitment to empowering India’s farmers, Agro & Food Processing entrepreneurs, and Self-Help Groups (SHGs). In line with this national celebration, the Chennai Zone of Bank of India held a series of impactful programs centered around outreach, recognition, and support for the farming community.


All 80 branches under Chennai Zone actively participated in Customer Outreach Programs, during which loyal and consistently repaying customers were felicitated. The events highlighted Bank of India’s comprehensive range of agricultural and rural banking products, with major loan disbursements marking a key highlight across several branches.


The central program in Chennai was graced by Chief Guest Shri Satyendra Singh, General Manager (IT), Head Office, Bank of India. Other senior officials of Bank Of India as follows:

More than 250 agriculture-based customers from across the 10 districts of Chennai Zone attended the program. Customers with a long-standing relationship with the bank and an excellent repayment track record were honored for their commitment and trust.


As part of the celebration, loan sanction letters were distributed to eligible beneficiaries. Dignitaries also interacted directly with customers, encouraging them to adopt modern, sustainable farming practices. Special guidance was extended to SHG women entrepreneurs on scaling their businesses and transforming them into recognizable brands.


The event featured interactive knowledge-sharing sessions, enhancing customer awareness of the bank’s agri-financing solutions, government-linked schemes, and support services. The program concluded with a community lunch, symbolizing the Bank’s enduring and heartfelt connection with the farming community.
