Chennai Customs has been honored with the prestigious Swachhta Award for the year 2023-24 by the Directorate General of Human Resources Development (DGHRD), recognizing its outstanding efforts and commitment towards cleanliness and hygiene.
The award was presented in recognition of the exemplary cleanliness initiatives and infrastructure revamp undertaken at the Air-Cargo Division of Chennai Customs, located at the New Custom House, Air Cargo Complex, Meenambakkam. The initiative was carried out under the Government of India’s Swachhta Campaign, aimed at promoting hygiene and a clean working environment across government institutions.
On this occasion, the Principal Commissioner of Customs congratulated all the officers and staff of the New Custom House for their collective efforts and dedication that led to this national recognition. He commended their teamwork and commitment towards maintaining cleanliness and upholding the values of the Swachhta Mission.
