At Muthumalai Puram, actor and director Bharathikannan and television director-actor-producer Thiruselvam interacted with the students of the Adhinarayanan-Chandraleela Memorial Free Evening Study Centre and distributed prizes to encourage them.
Located on the Tenkasi-Kadayam road, the ancestral home of the late K. Adhinarayanan, hereditary trustee of the Sree Thoranamalai Murugan Temple, has been converted into a free evening study centre for rural students in his native village of Muthumalai Puram. Named the Adhinarayanan-Chandraleela Memorial Free Evening Study Centre, it currently benefits around 105 students. In addition, a memorial playground has also been established there in their name.
Recently, during the Aadi Perukku festival at the Thoranamalai Murugan Temple, special pujas including Sumangali Pooja for married women were conducted. On this occasion, film director and actor Bharathikannan, along with TV director-actor-producer Thiruselvam, visited the temple and offered prayers.
Following the temple visit, they attended a cultural event presented by students of the Muthumalai Puram Evening Study Centre and appreciated their performances. Learning about the study centre's activities, the two celebrities visited Muthumalai Puram in person and interacted with the students present there. They distributed prizes and certificates to all the students and encouraged them with motivational advice.
They stated: “Education is a treasure that can never be stolen. If pursued correctly, it has the power to completely and positively transform your life. Everyone should study well.”
They further assured that they would provide necessary support and guidance for any students interested in pursuing careers in the arts after their education.
Later, they also visited the Adhinarayanan-Chandraleela Memorial Playground. They expressed their appreciation to Mr. Shenbagaraman, hereditary trustee of the Thoranamalai temple, and his family, who had transformed their ancestral home into a free evening study centre for rural students and provided them with notebooks, school bags, and other essential educational supplies.
