Maxivision Super Speciality Eye Hospitals has launched 10 super specialty eye hospitals/vision centres across Chennai, marking its grand entry into the Greater Chennai Region. The inauguration was performed by Mr. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, former Team India skipper.
With an investment of ₹100 crores, Maxivision aims to expand its network across Chennai, providing advanced, affordable, and community-centric eye care. The hospitals offer state-of-the-art technology, including SiLK Elita, a painless refractive lenticular procedure, robotic femto-laser cataract surgery, and advanced diagnostics for retina, cornea, and glaucoma.
The expansion aims to address the growing burden of eye disorders in Chennai, where cataract prevalence is reported to be 40-60%, driven by a dense, ageing population and rising lifestyle diseases. Maxivision's strategic expansion brings cutting-edge eye care closer to high-need populations, boosting timely intervention and strengthening regional infrastructure.

Maxivision has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Tamil Nadu to launch Project Velicham, committing ₹400 crores over four years to expand eye care infrastructure across the state. The project aims to deliver advanced, affordable eye care to underserved regions, while also generating employment and enhancing ophthalmic training and research in Tamil Nadu.
