The Ananda Rangapillai Library, Pondicherry University, in collaboration with the Department of Library & Information Science, organized the National Librarians’ Day Celebration along with a special Training on the Web of Science Database.
The inauguration began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Prof. P. Prakash Babu, Vice-Chancellor who later addressed the gathering, emphasizing the pivotal role of libraries in academic excellence and research.
Special addresses were delivered by Dr. M. Vijayakumar, University Librarian, and Prof. R. Sevukan, Dean, School of Media and Communication.
Dr. Jaswanth Jenny P, Solution Consultant from Clarivate, conducted the Web of Science training session for faculty members, research scholars, and students, equipping them with essential skills for advanced research and citation tracking.
The programme commenced with the University Anthem followed by a warm welcome address by Prof. R. Jeyshankar, Head, DLISc.
The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. P. Vijayakumar, Assistant Librarian, followed by the National Anthem. The event marked a successful blend of celebration and academic enrichment, reaffirming the university’s commitment to fostering knowledge and research culture.
