Lady Doak College, Madurai, held its annual Alumnae Meet on 27.09.2025, drawing an impressive attendance of around 430 alumnae from across batches and disciplines. The event was marked by reflection, celebration, and the reaffirmation of the enduring bonds between the institution and its former students.

The proceedings commenced with a prayer song rendered by the College Choir, followed by a prayer led by the College Chaplain, Dr Jessie Ranjitha Jebaselvi C. The welcome address was delivered by Ms Felcia Vasanthakumari J, President of the Alumnae Association.

The Secretary’s Report was presented by Dr Joy Marjorie Annal D, and the Treasurer’s Report by Ms Deva Sangeetha D, both of whom provided a detailed account of the Association’s activities during the past year.

A central feature of the gathering was the address of Dr R. Beulah Jeyashree, Principal and Secretary of Lady Doak College, who reflected on the college’s growth as a centre of learning, character, and service. She also shared developments concerning the forthcoming Satellite Campus, noting that Lady Doak College continues to evolve in keeping with its founding vision.

The event also witnessed the installation of new office-bearers. Dr Sriilatha, Former Associate Professor and Coordinator of B.Com (Hons.), assumed office as the new President of the Alumnae Association, while Dr Bridget Mary, Former Head of the Department of Physics, was installed as Vice President. Outgoing leaders, including Ms Felcia Vasanthakumari J and Ms Beryl Jenifer S, were honoured for their dedicated service to the Association.

The gathering was enriched by reminiscences shared by alumnae across generations. Among them were Mrs Jayalakshmi, Former Director of Schools and alumna of Zoology; Mrs Pauline Daniel, from the first batch of Commerce (1976); Mrs Pramila, alumna of English and Retired Headmistress; as well as younger alumnae including Ms Pavithra and Ms Suganthi, Engineers at Madura Coats, from the Department of Computer Science. Their recollections captured the spirit of fellowship and continuity that define the Lady Doak alumnae community. A reflective poem composed and recited by Ms Brindha, Alumnae Development Officer, added a personal and evocative note to the occasion.

The meeting concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms Beryl Jenifer S, followed by the rendition of the College Song.
