A mass prayer was held at Thoranamalai Murugan Temple, requesting the speedy completion of the circumambulation (Girivalam) path work. A large number of devotees participated in the event.

The Thoranamalai Sri Murugan Temple, located on Tenkasi-Kadayam Road, conducts a Girivalam (circumambulation of the hill) every full moon day. On this month’s full moon (Wednesday), the Girivalam was performed with numerous devotees singing devotional songs in praise of Lord Murugan and chanting His hymns, covering a distance of approximately 6.5 km around the hill.

Meanwhile, with a government order already issued for the renovation of the circumambulation path, the work is expected to begin soon and be completed promptly. Devotees prayed for good northeast monsoon rains to enrich agriculture and ensure the prosperity of farmers, for India to achieve self-sufficiency in all sectors, for equality and fraternity among the nation’s people, for the health and well-being of rural laborers, for the rehabilitation of those with substance abuse habits, and for rural students to excel in education. They also prayed that parents would nurture and care for their children properly and that all who help in the divine service at Thoranamalai would live happily.

Prasadam was distributed to all participants, and a food offering (annadanam) took place in the morning and afternoon. The arrangements were made by the temple hereditary trustee, Senbakaraman.
