Waves Film Bazaar 2025 Wraps Up with Major Wins and Global Partnerships

The NFDC Waves Film Bazaar 2025, held alongside the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), concluded five days of intensive industry activity, bringing together filmmakers, producers, studios, and international delegates. This year’s edition highlighted the growing ambition and scale of South Asian filmmaking, with several standout projects and new global collaborations.


Speaking on the event, a spokesperson said, “Waves Film Bazaar continues to provide a unique platform for emerging filmmakers to showcase their talent and connect with global partners. This year, we saw exciting projects gain recognition and secure international support, reflecting the growing influence of South Asian cinema worldwide.”


Top honors included the Co-Production Market award of $10,000 to Kakthet (Idiot) directed by Stenzin Tankong, and $5,000 to Ulta (Madam) directed by Paromita Dhar. The Netflix Documentary Grant went to Simhastha Kumbh, while the Red Sea Fund and Work-in-Progress Lab recognized films such as The Manager, Azhi, and Ustad Bantoo. Additional grants and casting support were awarded, helping filmmakers advance their projects to the next stage.
