JCB India has reached a significant milestone with the production and sale of its 600,000th machine, a Backhoe Loader, one of the country’s most widely used construction machines. The achievement marks over four decades of partnership with customers, dealers, suppliers, and communities that have contributed to India’s infrastructure growth. With six manufacturing facilities in India, JCB has built a strong supplier ecosystem and exports its machines to more than 135 countries, making India a key global manufacturing hub for the company.

Deepak Shetty, CEO and Managing Director, JCB India, said the milestone reflects the trust customers have placed in JCB over several decades. He highlighted that the Backhoe Loader has become closely associated with India’s infrastructure and development journey and credited customers, dealers, suppliers, and stakeholders for the company’s long-term success. He also reaffirmed JCB India’s commitment to supporting the nation’s infrastructure growth through innovation, local manufacturing, skill development, and fuel-efficient, high-productivity machines.

Lord Bamford, Chairman of JCB, noted that the company celebrated its 80th anniversary last year and has been serving customers in India for nearly 50 years. He described the 600,000th machine milestone as a fitting achievement for the Backhoe Loader, JCB’s most versatile product. As a strong supporter of the Make in India vision, JCB India continues to invest in manufacturing, engineering, innovation, diversity, and community development. The company operates six advanced factories, exports to over 135 countries, has a network of more than 64 dealers and 700 outlets, and employs around 8,000 trained professionals across India.
