DMK President M.K. Stalin Releases VOC College History Book and Digital Diary

DMK President M. K. Stalin has released a commemorative book chronicling the 75-year educational journey of the historic V.O.C. College, which recently celebrated its Platinum Jubilee.


Founded in 1951 with the noble objective of promoting the advancement of the people of Thoothukudi district and providing quality education to students from all sections of society, the institution has played a significant role in higher education over the past seven and a half decades.


The book highlights the college’s 75 years of educational service, its contributions to educational reform and social transformation, and various initiatives undertaken for the growth and development of students. Along with the publication, a VOC Digital Diary containing photographs, archival records, and historical information in digital format was also released to preserve the institution’s legacy for future generations.


The release function was held in Chennai and was attended by Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, North District DMK Secretary Geetha Jeevan, VOC College Secretary Sokkalingam, College of Education Secretary Shanmugam, VOC College Principal Veerabahu, and Subbulakshmi, Secretary of A.P.C. Mahalakshmi College.


Faculty members Radhika, Meenakshi Sundaram, Patchirajan, Jackson, and College Governing Body Member Rohith were also present on the occasion.


The release of the commemorative book and digital diary marks an important milestone in documenting and preserving the rich history, achievements, and educational contributions of VOC College over the last 75 years.
