Kumbabishekam Ceremony Held at Varasakthi Vinayagar Temple in Tiruppathur

The Kumbabishekam (consecration) ceremony of the Sri Varasakthi Vinayagar Temple, located near the Government Transport Workshop at Thambipatti in Tiruppathur, Sivaganga district, was held recently with religious fervour.


The celebrations commenced on Sunday with special prayers to Lord Vinayagar and Vastu Shanti rituals. On Monday, Ganapathi Homam, Lakshmi Homam, and the first phase of Yaga Pooja along with Raksha Bandhanam and Poorna Ahuthi were performed. In the evening, Stupi Sthapanam, the consecration of the Vinayagar idol, and the second phase of Yaga Pooja took place.


On Tuesday, the third phase of Yaga Pooja was conducted. On Wednesday, the day of the Kumbabishekam, the fourth phase of Yaga Pooja was held at 7 a.m., followed by Maha Poorna Ahuthi at 9 a.m. After the ceremonial procession, holy water was poured over the temple tower kalasam at 9.30 a.m., and Deeparadhana was performed.


Subsequently, Maha Abhishekam was conducted for the presiding deity. The Yagasala rituals and Vedic chanting were performed by priests K. Ramesh Gurukkal and K. Chandrasekara Gurukkal.


A large number of devotees from Tiruppathur and nearby areas participated in the ceremony. Annadhanam (free community feast) was served at the conclusion of the event.


The arrangements for the festival were made by the Sri Varasakthi Vinayagar Temple Renovation Committee.
