In a move aimed at strengthening India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, Meesho has partnered with BSE to launch Project Shikhar, an initiative designed to help MSMEs prepare for public listings and access growth capital through the BSE SME platform.

The partnership, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), seeks to empower digital-first businesses by equipping them with the knowledge, processes and governance standards required to transition into publicly listed companies. The agreement was signed in the presence of Lopamudra Rao, Head of Corporate Affairs, Meesho, and Sundararaman Ramamurthy, Managing Director and CEO, BSE.

India’s MSME sector plays a crucial role in economic growth and employment generation, yet many businesses face challenges in accessing institutional funding. Project Shikhar aims to bridge this gap by creating a structured pathway for high-potential enterprises to explore capital market opportunities and accelerate their growth journeys.

Commenting on the initiative, Sundararaman Ramamurthy said the BSE SME platform has consistently enabled promising businesses to raise capital and strengthen governance practices. He noted that the collaboration with Meesho would expand these opportunities to a growing base of digital entrepreneurs who have built successful businesses online.

Lopamudra Rao said many sellers on Meesho have demonstrated significant growth potential and are now ready to take the next step in their evolution. She added that Project Shikhar would support these enterprises in becoming investor-ready while contributing to the formalisation and long-term development of India’s economy.

The initiative underscores the shared commitment of Meesho and BSE to fostering sustainable growth among India's emerging businesses.
