A Natyanjali dance programme was held at the Sri Sakkarai Muneeswarar Temple in Old Therbogi, near Thiruvadanai, as part of the temple’s Maha Kumbabishekam celebrations.
The Maha Kumbabishekam was conducted following two sessions of Yaga Poojas, Poornahuti, and Deeparadhana rituals. Holy water was ceremonially poured over the temple tower kalasam during the consecration ceremony.
Following the Kumbabishekam, students of the Thillai Aruran Natya School, Tirupathur, presented a Natyanjali performance featuring classical dance items such as Ganesha Stuthi, Natesa Kauthuvam, Keerthanai, Kavadi Chindu, and Paras Thillana.
The programme was led by the school’s guru, Yogeswari, and featured performances by students Sai Sri, Shivani Sri, Sadhana, Hema Sri, Akshaya, and Priyadharshini. Organisers Meenakshi Maruthupandian and other volunteers also participated in the event.
The Kumbabishekam arrangements were made by the family of Jayalakshmi Ammal Gopal, along with Manikanda Gurukkal and the villagers. Pichaikurukkal of Pillayarpatti attended as the special guest.
At the conclusion of the event, awards were presented to the students of the dance school by the Kumbabishekam committee in recognition of their performances.
