Salesforce, the #1 AI CRM company, has announced a commitment to skill one million learners across India in AI-focused capabilities by 2030. The initiative coincides with the 10-year milestone of Salesforce India’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) and aims to go beyond digital literacy by preparing India’s workforce for future AI-driven jobs. The program will be powered through Trailhead, Salesforce’s free digital learning platform, and delivered via collaborations with academic institutions, industry partners, and government bodies.
The skilling initiative includes multiple integrated programs such as government-backed AI training in partnership with IndiaAI and MeitY, a Virtual Internship Program with AICTE to provide hands-on experience, and Academic Centers of Excellence with institutions like Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). Additionally, Salesforce’s partner ecosystem—including Accenture, Deloitte, Grant Thornton Bharat, Infosys, PwC, and TCS—will support structured training, mentorship, and real-world project exposure to create strong employment pathways.
Arundhati Bhattacharya, President and CEO of Salesforce South Asia, highlighted that India is shaping the global technology landscape and emphasized that the initiative reflects confidence in India’s readiness to lead the AI economy. Buddha Chandrasekhar, Chief Coordinating Officer of AICTE under the Ministry of Education, noted that such industry–academia collaborations are essential to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry needs, enabling students to build skills in digital, cloud, data, and AI for the evolving workforce.
