The Thoranamalai Sri Murugan Temple is located on the Tenkasi–Kadayam road. At this temple, Varuna Kalasa Pooja is traditionally conducted on the last Friday of every Tamil month, with the intention of seeking rain and ensuring agricultural prosperity.
Accordingly, this month’s pooja was held yesterday (Friday). On this occasion, devotees brought sacred water pots from the natural spring located at the hilltop early in the morning. Special abhishekam and Varuna Kalasa Pooja were performed for Saptha Kannis, Vinayagar, and other deities, as well as for the Utsava idols at the foothills.
Earlier, special abhishekam and deepa aradhana were performed for Goddess Bhadrakaliamman and Lord Murugan at the hilltop temple. A large number of devotees from surrounding areas participated in the event. Annadhanam (free food distribution) was provided to devotees in the morning and afternoon.
The arrangements were made by the temple hereditary trustee, Shenbagaraman.
