A blood donation camp was organised at the Dindigul Government Medical College Hospital on Monday to mark World Blood Donor Day, highlighting this year's theme: "Give Blood, Give Hope: Together We Save Lives."
The camp was held in the presence of District Revenue Officer R. Jeyabharathi, who encouraged voluntary blood donation as an act of humanity and appreciated the efforts of donors in helping save lives.
Although World Blood Donor Day is observed annually on June 14, the special blood donation camp was organised on June 30 as part of the commemorative activities. Government employees, volunteers, and members of the public participated in the camp by donating blood. The District Revenue Officer also presented appreciation certificates to the donors in recognition of their contribution.
Among those present were Dr. J. Srisaravanan, Principal of the Government Medical College Hospital, Dr. Muthuraj, Medical Superintendent (In-charge), Dr. S. Bhuvaneswari, Resident Medical Officer, Assistant Resident Medical Officers Dr. R. Senthilkumaran and Dr. V. Senthilkumar, along with members of the blood bank team, nurses, and hospital staff.
