Dindigul Collector Receives 755 Petitions at Grievance Redressal Meeting

The weekly Public Grievance Redressal Day meeting was held yesterday at the District Collectorate Conference Hall under the chairmanship of District Collector Durga Moorthy, IAS.


In accordance with the directions of the Government of Tamil Nadu, the Public Grievance Redressal Day meeting is conducted every Monday at the District Collectorate to receive petitions from the public, conduct necessary enquiries, and extend eligible government welfare benefits to qualified beneficiaries. During today's meeting, the District Collector received 755 petitions from members of the public.


The Collector forwarded the petitions to the respective departmental officials and instructed them to take swift action on all eligible applications after due verification.


During the meeting, the District Collector also distributed welfare assistance orders under the Labour Welfare Department to eligible beneficiaries. The assistance included an order for ₹50,000 towards higher education assistance for a medical student; marriage assistance orders worth ₹20,000 each to three beneficiaries, amounting to ₹60,000; workplace accident death compensation orders of ₹5,00,000 each to four beneficiaries, totalling ₹20,00,000; an order for ₹2,05,000 towards accident death and funeral assistance for one beneficiary; natural death and funeral assistance of ₹55,000 each to two beneficiaries, amounting to ₹1,10,000; and monthly pension sanction orders for four beneficiaries.


In total, 15 beneficiaries received welfare assistance and sanction orders valued at ₹24.25 lakh.


The meeting was attended by District Revenue Officer R. Jayabharathi; District Rural Development Agency Project Director S. Shanthi; Tamil Nadu State Rural Livelihood Mission Project Director S. Gangatharani; Dindigul Revenue Divisional Officer K. Palanivel; Assistant Commissioner of Labour (Social Security Scheme) A. Senbhagaraman; Assistant Commissioner (Excise) Prabhu; Personal Assistant (Social Security Scheme) Henry Peter; District Supply and Consumer Protection Officer V. Prabhakar; District Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Officer Justin Santhappa; Additional Personal Assistant (Land) to the District Collector Shajahan; and several other departmental officials.
