The Centre of Excellence in Biotechnology (COXBIT), Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), participated in Food Pro Expo 2026, held from August 7 to 9, 2026, at the Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai, showcasing innovative food-based products developed by startups.
During the expo, the Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Government of Tamil Nadu, P. Venkataramanan, visited the expo stalls and interacted with the COXBIT team. The team briefed the Minister on COXBIT’s initiatives for promoting food innovation and supporting startups in transforming research and innovative ideas into market-ready products.
COXBIT highlighted its integrated startup support ecosystem, including facilitation of financial assistance and funding opportunities, access to state-of-the-art laboratory facilities for product development and validation, technical guidance and mentoring and dedicated working spaces for product development.
The innovative food products of M/s. Aviva Organics, M/s. Themolife Pharmaceuticals, M/s. Ziwwits Sustainable Technologies Private Limited, and M/s. Arshitha Food Products, showcased by COXBIT-incubated food-sector startups, demonstrated the potential of research-driven entrepreneurship in developing value-added, innovative, and market-oriented food solutions.
Through such initiatives, COXBIT continues to strengthen the bridge from Research to Technology, Technology to Startups and Startups to Industry, to the growth of Tamil Nadu’s food-processing and innovation ecosystem.
