Students of Cheran Vidyalaya Matric Higher Secondary School in Chinnalapatti greeted the school principal with a bouquet on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of former President Dr. S. Radhakrishnan.
Located on the Chinnalapatti Bypass Road in Dindigul district, Cheran Vidyalaya Matric Higher Secondary School is run entirely by women teachers and functions as a safe learning environment for students. The school also focuses on developing not only academically successful students but also dedicated teachers.
Dr. S. Radhakrishnan’s birthday is celebrated as Teachers’ Day across India in recognition of his contribution to the teaching profession and his later service as President of India.
Teachers’ Day is celebrated every year at Cheran Vidyalaya School. This year, students visited the office of Principal, Trustee and Treasurer N. Thilagam, presented her with a bouquet and conveyed their Teachers’ Day wishes.
Following this, teachers, office staff and other employees of the school extended their greetings to the principal. On behalf of the school management, teachers, office staff and other employees were presented with gifts and sweets.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal N. Thilagam said that Dr. S. Radhakrishnan had dedicated himself to the teaching profession before going on to serve as the President of India and earn the respect of the nation. She urged the students to take former Presidents Dr. Radhakrishnan and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam as their role models and to respect teachers who contribute to their growth and success.
The arrangements for the programme were made by Cheran School Management Trustee M. Sivakumar; Trustee, Treasurer and Principal N. Thilagam; Trustees J. Alfred Eng, P. Bharathiraja and C. Abishek Sivakumar; Assistant Headmistress Vennila; Physical Education teachers Senthilkumar and Sivaranjani; and accountants Maheswari, Nithyapriya and Aruljothi.
