The 7th edition of the Diplomatic Premier League (DPL), along with the first-ever pickleball tournament exclusively organised for diplomats, was inaugurated in Chennai. The initiative promotes sports, international friendship and cultural exchange by bringing together members of the diplomatic community on a common sporting platform.
The inauguration was attended by Dr. Yashwanth, Honorary Consul of El Salvador and Co-founder of the Diplomatic Premier League; Christophe, Deputy Consul General of France; Noble, Deputy Consul General of Australia; Vinod, Honorary Consul of Uganda; and Mr. Vallan, Chief of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in the Tamil Nadu region.
The introduction of the exclusive pickleball tournament marks a key highlight of this edition, offering diplomats a new sporting opportunity to build camaraderie and strengthen professional and personal relationships. The DPL continues to use sports as a platform to foster mutual understanding, cross-cultural engagement and international cooperation beyond formal diplomatic interactions.
