Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles celebrated Czech Day 2026 at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi, commemorating its origins in Prague and its longstanding connection with Indian motorcycling culture.

Founded in Prague in 1929, Jawa began with the JAWA 500 OHV, followed by the lightweight JAWA 175 in 1932. Over the decades, the brand gained recognition for its engineering innovations, including the Jawa Pérák, developed during the Second World War.

Jawa’s association with India began in 1960 with the arrival of Ideal Jawa. Its motorcycles became part of the country’s popular culture, motorsports, rider communities and Indian cinema, earning a loyal following across generations.

The brand returned to India in 2018 with the Jawa 42, which, according to the company, established the modern classic motorcycle category in the country. Jawa subsequently expanded its portfolio, most recently with the Jawa All Stars range, comprising the Jawa 42, Jawa 42 FJ and Jawa 42 Bobber.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Anupam Thareja, Co-founder, Classic Legends, said Czech Day offered an opportunity to celebrate Jawa’s origins and reflect on its continuing journey in India. He noted that the Jawa 42 introduced the brand’s distinctive spirit to a new generation of riders, adding that Jawa’s focus remained on carrying its legacy forward while creating motorcycles for today’s riders.

Jawa’s participation in Czech Day 2026 underscored the connection between its Czech heritage and India’s evolving motorcycling culture.
