25th South Zone Senior National Tennikoit Championship for Men and Women 2023-2024 was held at Sivanesa Pandian Tennikoit Arena, Hatsun Tennikoit Academy in Thiruthangal, Tamil Nadu from June 16th to June 18th, 2023. Tamil Nadu won the women's category. In the same category, second prize was won by Karnataka and third prize by Kerala.
Karnataka won the first prize in the men's category. Tamil Nadu won the second prize and Pondicherry the third prize in the men's category.
Also in the mixed doubles category, Abhishek and Maneka from Tamil Nadu won the first prize, Dhanush and Lathika from Karnataka won the second prize and Selvakumar and Geetha from Puducherry won the third prize.
Tamil Nadu won the overall champion title by getting 28 points.
The tournament, conducted by Tamil Nadu Tennikoit Association and sponsored by Arun Ice cream, got good response from sports enthusiasts, with xxx participants registering for it from the states of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Kerala.
T S Bisht, IPS, president, Tennikoit Federation of India, who was the event’s chief guest, said, "I congratulate the winners and participants for their tireless efforts. I appreciate Hatsun Sports Academy’s thoughtfully curated events for sports development."

The tournament was lively and energy-filled because of the sporting spirit exhibited by the participants. I wish more and more people recognise the importance of sports and how important it is in the holistic development of an individual. MR.P.Mariappan, Head coach, Hatsun Tennikoit academy registered his heartfelt thanks to all the participants, their mentors, their parents and the educational institutions they are studying in. “We have a huge pool of talent in sports. Each one of the players exhibited mind-blowing techniques and sportsmanship. I request all players to keep working on their game and better it consistently,” he said.
Mr. M Rajiv Vignesh, Director, V.V.V & Sons Edible Oil Ltd was part of the inaugural event, which happened on the 16th of June 2023.
During the tournament, the top 6 men and 6 women from each state were selected and played in the subsequent rounds. While the first and second ranking players played in singles team champion, 3rd and 4th ranking played in doubles team champion, 5th rank players play mixed doubles event, and 6th ranking played in team event (as reserved players)
