The national committee of Sabarimala Ayyappa Seva Samajam, which met at Erode on Saturday, decided to start annadanam and herbal water distribution work for devotees in Sabarimala for 60 days from Karthigai 1.
The Samajam national chairman TB Shekhar told newsmen the Samajam used to arrange food, medical, bathing and toilet facilities in 32 places in and around Sabarimala and 120 pathways of it in the name of Ayyappa Seva Kendram for many years. Besides, the Samajam used to provide herbal kudineer and cleaning services.
In the meeting, discussion was held to extend the services to the devotees coming from North India in their areas and depute 250 volunteers per day to clean the sanctum sanctorum during the mandala and mahara vilakku festival beginning from Karthigai 1. It was also decided to improve annadanam in 32 places in and around sabarimala, hold Swachh Sabarimala event on January 19 and Harivarasanam rendering function in 10000 places in each state. National joint general secretary S Vinothkumar, national chairman V Krishnappa state general secretary GN Jayaram and vice president Samy S Rathnam and many others attended.
