A celebration of Pi Day and Inauguration of Delta Mathematics Association took place at Sigma Hall, NIT Puducherry on 14th March 2024. The function was graced by the Dr S Sundaravarathan, Registrar of NIT Puducherry along with Chief Guest Dr J Kokila, Department of Statistics and Applied Mathematics, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur.
Dr V Govindaraj, Head of the Department, Department of Mathematics gave the welcome address while Dr. Lalrinpuia Tlau, Assistant Professor (Mathematics) addressed the gathering about the significance of Pi Day and the purpose the newly inaugurated association. It was mentioned that the association is student centric with the main purpose of enhancing mathematical knowledge and thinking.
The function was followed by a talk from the chief guest who shared her insights obtained from her rich experience in research and teaching.
