The Research Centre and Department of Economics, Lady Doak College, Madurai organised a National Conference on "Green Economy – An Approach to Sustainable Economic Growth" on 9th December, 2024 in collaboration with the Scientific Research Association for Economics and Finance, Chennai. Dr. Helen Mary Jacqueline M., Dean of Academic Affairs (Humanities), Associate Professor, and Head of the Department welcomed the gathering.
Dr. Beulah Jeyashree R., Principal and Secretary of Lady Doak College gave the presidential address. Prof. Venkatachalam L., RBI Chair, Madras Institute of Development Studies, Chennai inaugurated and delivered the keynote address. The conference featured a series of insightful keynote addresses by Dr. Anitha V., Professor and Head of the Department of Economics at the University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram and Mr. Vishnu Raj G., ISS, Director NSO, MoSPI, Regional Office, Madurai.
The conference witnessed vibrant 94 participants with 30 paper presentations. The proceedings of the national conference were subsequently published in the in-house college journal, ASPIRE (Special Issue). Dr. S. Theenathayalan, Syndicate Member of Madurai Kamaraj University, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Economics at Madura College, Madurai delivered the valedictory address and distributed the certificates.
