Seiko Epson Corporation has inaugurated its first ink tank printer manufacturing facility in India, located in Chennai, marking a significant milestone in its global and Indian operations. Established in collaboration with manufacturing partner RIKUN, the new plant underscores Epson’s commitment to local production and sustainable innovation.
Mr. Junkichi Yoshida, Global President of Seiko Epson Corporation, highlighted the importance of India’s growing economy and digital progress, calling the inauguration a historic event for Epson. “India offers immense opportunities for innovation and leadership,” he said during the ceremony.
Mr. Samba Moorthy, President of Epson India, emphasized that the new EcoTank printer manufacturing facility represents a major step in Epson India’s growth, enabling faster service to customers and supporting India’s goal of building a self-reliant and sustainable manufacturing ecosystem.
The move aligns with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, focusing on localizing production and enhancing supply chain efficiency. Mr. Yoshida affirmed Epson’s dedication to innovation, sustainability, and technological leadership as it expands its presence in the Indian market.
