The Department of Plant Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics, Centre for Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (CPMB&B), Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, organized a three-day hands-on training program on “Molecular Modeling, Docking and Simulation” from 24th to 26th September 2025.
The program attracted participants from diverse institutions, including faculty members, postgraduate and doctoral students from Karunya University, SRM Institute, College of Forestry (Kerala Agricultural University), Saveetha Dental College, Alagappa University, University of Agricultural Sciences (Dharwad), Erode Sengunthar Engineering College, SRIPMS College of Pharmacy, Vellore Institute of Technology, United College of Pharmacy, and students from TNAU.
The training commenced with an inaugural function. Dr. L. Arul, Professor and Head, Department of Plant Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics, delivered the welcome address and emphasized the significance of such workshops in advancing research skills. This was followed by self-introductions by the participants. Dr. N. Senthil, Director, CPMB&B, briefed the gathering about the objectives of the program and highlighted the importance of molecular modeling and docking in current research. Dr. V. Balasubramani, Controller of Examinations, TNAU, delivered the special address, explaining the training content in a simple and engaging manner. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. N. Bharathi, Associate Professor, Department of Plant Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics.
