Two-day awareness camp on central government schemes begins in Thirumangalam

An awareness camp on various public welfare schemes being implemented by the Government of India was held on behalf of Central Bureau of Communication, Chennai which functions under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, began today at the Kodi Arangam located on the Thirumangalam Bypass Road.


The camp was inaugurated and presided over by Virudhunagar constituency MP Manickam Tagore. Speaking at the event, he appreciated the work of the Central Bureau of Communication. Then he told the college students participating in the event that they should thoroughly  know the government schemes and analyse it. He said that students should set a specific goal and traveling without a goal will not bring any success. He remembered the officers who were born in simple families in villages and succeeded in civil services exonination.


He also honored the students of Fatima College and Government College who won the elocution competitions by presenting certificates and prizes.


Tmt.Shalini Sushmita, Deputy Commissioner of GST and Vathak Raviraj Harishchandra, Senior Superintendent of Posts, Madurai, were present as special guests. The Superintendent of Posts, while speaking, highlighted various schemes including PMMVY, JSY, JSSK and social security schemes implemented by the Postal Department and banking schemes that are available directly at the doorsteps.


The program was held in the presence of Ramya Muthukumar, Chairman of Thirumangalam Municipality.


Tirunelveli Field Publicity Officer Gopakumar welcomed the gathering. Madurai Field Publicity Assistant  Boswell Asir expressed the vote of thanks. Tirunelveli Field Publicity Assistant Velmurugan, moderated the program.


This awareness camp had 25 to 30 standees on various welfare schemes implemented by the Central Government and 

Small exhibition stalls were set up on behalf of the Integrated Child Development Scheme, District Social Welfare Office, District Lead Bank and Postal Department.


Apart from this, cultural shows explaining the schemes were also performed by the Pudu Yugam Cultural Group.


It has been arranged for school and college students to visit it. The public can also visit it free of charge.


There will be two sessions on both days, morning and afternoon. A seminar will be held in each session. Two government department officials will participate in this seminar and explain various schemes to the participants. 


The camp will conclude tomorrow evening. The public can visit it free of charge and Aadhaar correction work can also be done here.
