The Poultry Farmers Regulatory Committee (PFRC) organized its 2025 Annual Summit on Friday in Coimbatore District.
Lakshmanan, Shanthi Hatcheries and Chairman, BCC & PFRC presided over the event. The Summit was held on 5 crucial themes - Nutrition, Healthy Eating, Role of Poultry in Human Nutrition, Bio Security Protocol- SAFE P Certification and Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases.
Chinnasamy, MD, Swathi Hatcheries and Secretary, BCC & PFRC offered felicitation. He said broiler chickens are the affordable protein source today, and individual human consumption has increased significantly over the years.
Chicken production is going strong in Tamil Nadu, Maharastra and Telangana; and among these 3 states, TN tops all in terms of broiler production as the climate here is the best. He said one of the key requests from PFRC is that if Tamil Nadu Government's Department of Animal Husbandry gives them a rendering plant for recycling chicken waste at a location central to Pollachi, Udumalai, Coimbatore and Palladam, it would help these major broiler chicken producing towns handle waste effectively.
