The Rise - Sangam 5 Global Summit for Tamil Entrepreneurs and professionals is currently taking place in Madurai. The conference began in a grand manner on January 8, with the Global Tamil Jallikattu event held at Alanganallur. Tamil Nadu Minister for Registration and Commercial Taxes Mr. P. Moorthy, former Union Minister Mr. A. Raja, MP, and several others participated in the inaugural event. The summit, which is being conducted as a grand festival uniting Tamils from across the world, continued successfully on its second day with the participation of Tamil entrepreneurs, IT professionals, and investors. Strategy sessions led by the International Tamil Engineers Association and powerful networking meetings connecting North America, Europe, Asia, and major Indian cities attracted significant attention.
This was followed by seminars on B2B export-import, artificial intelligence, IT and the start-up environment. Investment opportunities were created for new business ventures through Pitch Tech.
The Global Tamil Media and Tamil Impact Awards were presented at an event held in the evening, where various personalities were honoured for their social and industry contributions.
Tamil Nadu Minister for Municipal Administration and Water Supply Mr. K.N. Nehru attended the event as the chief guest and delivered a special address. Film director and actor Mr. K. Bhagyaraj, Vels University Chancellor Mr. Isari K. Ganesh, V Creations Mr. Kalaipuli S. Thanu, actors Mr. Ponvannan, Mr. Vela Ramamoorthy, Mr. Ganesh Venkatraman, and television host Mr. Gopinath were also present at the event.
During the festival, the Lifetime Music Achievement Award was presented to legendary singer P. Susheela. The Lifetime Tamil Service Award was conferred to renowned Tamil orator and debate moderator Solomon Pappaiya and Tamil scholar Dr. Mahendran.

· Best Cinematographer: Sukumar (Thalaivan Thalaivi)
· Lifetime Achievement Award: Actor Diamond Babu
Additionally, the Best Tamil Inspiration Award was presented to Shahul Hameed (The Rise UAE President), Cecil Sundar (Director, Microsoft), Subha Umadevan (Switzerland), Hari Gopalan (Founder, Sunbeam Schools), and Chitra Ganapathy (Co-founder, Kadambavanam, Madurai).
On the second day of the Summit, the Green Political Leadership Award was presented to Tamil Nadu Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Mr. R. Sakkarapani. The outstanding Urban Development Leader Award was conferred to Minister for Municipal Administration and Water Supply Mr. K.N. Nehru and the Jallikattu Guardian Award was presented to Minister for Registration and Commercial Taxes Mr. P. Moorthy.
