The 10-day Summer Painting Workshop organised by Tamil Nadu House, New Delhi, concluded on May 30, 2026. The workshop, which began on May 21, 2026, was conducted as part of the annual summer vacation activities for children.
A total of 56 students participated in this year's programme. The workshop was offered completely free of cost, and all painting materials and equipment required for the training were provided to the participants at the expense of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
The valedictory function was attended by R. Jaya, Additional Chief Secretary and Chief Resident Commissioner of the Government of Tamil Nadu, and Ashish Kumar, Resident Commissioner, who delivered special addresses.
In her speech, R. Jaya congratulated all the students who participated in the workshop and emphasized the importance of receiving foundational training in the visual arts. She noted that such programmes help nurture creativity and imagination while also contributing significantly to students' educational development and personal growth.
The workshop instructor, K. Viswanathan, former Deputy Director of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), along with Ms. Kanishka, expressed gratitude on behalf of the organisers. They also thanked the DTEA School administration for providing space to conduct the camp.
The event was attended by Parimala Devi and other officials of Tamil Nadu House.
As part of the concluding ceremony, certificates were distributed to all participating students. The students also showcased the paintings they had created during the workshop.
The workshop proved to be a valuable platform for enhancing students' creativity, artistic skills, and self-confidence, while encouraging greater interest in the field of art.
