Bank of India Reaffirms Rural Banking Commitment at Kisan Diwas Celebration

Bank of India celebrated Kisan Diwas in Chennai Zone as part of Kisan Mah, bringing together around 250 farmers and Self-Help Group (SHG) members from Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram and neighbouring regions to promote financial inclusion and sustainable agricultural growth.


The programme was attended by Smt. Anitha Mohanty, General Manager – FGMO Chennai; Shri K. Kishore Kumar, General Manager – Head Office, Business Unit (Rural); Shri Mohan Marethi, Zonal Manager, Chennai Zone; Shri Jitendra Prasad, Deputy Zonal Manager; and other senior officials.


Addressing the gathering, Shri K. Kishore Kumar, General Manager – Head Office, Business Unit (Rural), Bank of India, spoke about farm mechanisation and urged the farmers to make maximum use of banking services. The chief guest Rev Fr Victor Ramesh in his address to the gathering advised the SHG folk and farmers regarding financial discipline and expressed his happiness over the long relationship with Bank of India.


Loan sanction letters were distributed to eligible beneficiaries, while the Bank showcased financial inclusion initiatives, including PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY and NPS. The event also featured SHG product displays and modern agricultural equipment, reaffirming Bank of India's commitment to expanding rural credit and supporting the farming community.
