In a proud moment for Tamil Nadu, student R. Nikalyan Raj from Erode has won a bronze medal at the World School Games Championship in Muay Thai boxing, held in Malaysia. His achievement marks a historic milestone as he is the only participant from Tamil Nadu to secure a medal in this global competition.
The championship witnessed participation from 102 countries worldwide, with 35 athletes representing India, including six from Tamil Nadu. Among them, Nikalyan Raj stood out by showcasing exceptional skill and determination, ultimately clinching the bronze medal.
Training at the The Action Zone Academy in Erode, Nikalyan Raj’s success has brought immense pride not only to his district but also to the entire state. His victory has been widely celebrated by sports enthusiasts and the local community.
Alongside him, fellow academy athletes R. Nalanraj and Veda also competed at the international stage, earning appreciation for their spirited performances. Their participation, combined with Nikalyan Raj’s medal-winning feat, has sparked joy and pride among the people of Erode and Tamil Nadu.
