Coimbatore Collector Inspects Development Works in Sultanpet

The District Collector of Coimbatore, Pavan Kumar G. Griyappanavar, IAS, yesterday (07.07.2026) inspected various ongoing development projects under the Sultanpet Panchayat Union in Coimbatore district.


During the inspection, Sultanpet Block Development Officer Kalarani, Assistant Engineers (Rural Development Department) Kanagaraj and Arun, Sulur Tahsildar Senthil Kumar, and several other government officials were present.


Since assuming office, the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has been giving priority to providing essential infrastructure and implementing various development projects for the benefit of people from all sections of society. The government has also been extending several welfare schemes to ensure that they reach all eligible beneficiaries. To ensure that these welfare schemes effectively benefit the public and that development works are executed with quality and completed within the stipulated time, continuous field inspections are being carried out.


As part of this initiative, the District Collector first visited the Chandrapuram Government Primary Health Centre in Varapatti Panchayat under Sultanpet Panchayat Union. He inspected the stock of medicines available for patients. He also visited the noon meal centre functioning in the government-aided school there and reviewed the availability of food supplies.


Subsequently, he inspected the Public Distribution System (PDS) Fair Price Shop at Kulathupalayam in Varapatti Panchayat. During the visit, he reviewed the stock of essential commodities meant for distribution to ration card holders and verified whether the commodities were being distributed properly. He then visited the Anganwadi Centre in the same area, where he inspected the stock of food items supplied to children and examined the children's attendance register.


Finally, the District Collector inspected the construction of the new Sultanpet Panchayat Union Office building being built at Varapatti Panchayat at an estimated cost of ₹5.90 crore. He instructed the concerned officials to ensure that the construction work is completed quickly while maintaining high quality standards so that the building can be brought into public use at the earliest. He also visited and inspected the Public Distribution System Fair Price Shop and the e-Seva Centre functioning in Vadugapalayam under Vadambacheri Panchayat.
