A three-day industry seminar on “Next Generation Healthcare” was successfully conducted by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Nandha Engineering College, Erode, under the AICTE’s VANI scheme.
The first day of the seminar was presided over by V. Shanmugan, Chairman of Sri Nandha Educational Trust. Dr. Pandiyarasan Velusamy, Grade-I Assistant Professor at IIT Kancheepuram, and Boopathi Sakthivel, Chairman of Prashan Medical Technologies, Coimbatore, participated as special guests.
The programme was graced by Dr. U.S. Raghupathi, Principal of the college; Dr. C.N. Marimuthu, Dean of Research and Development; and Dr. P. Sukumar, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, who delivered their felicitation addresses. S. Kavitha, Dean of the Department of Industry Collaboration and Alumni Affairs, delivered the welcome address.
On the second day, G. Gurupprasath, Chairman of Medsby Healthcare and Engineering, Coimbatore; Dr. R. Vidhyapriya, Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering, PSG Institute of Technology; and K.P. Amalnath, Chairman of Mediwel Healthneers, Erode, participated as special guests.
On the third day, Dr. S. Sivakumar, Head of the Department of Robotics, Government Engineering College, Thanjavur; Dr. M. Sabarimalai Manikandan, Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Palakkad; and R. Jagadeesan, Chairman of Endu Technologies, Coimbatore, participated as special guests.
During the three-day seminar, the special guests explained the developments and future applications of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics technologies in the healthcare sector through video presentations. Training sessions were also conducted on modern, industry-oriented approaches to enhance the technological knowledge of faculty members and students and familiarise them with next-generation technologies.
At the conclusion of the event, Assistant Professor V. Parameswari, the coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks.
The members of Sri Nandha Educational Trust, including Banumathi Shanmugan, and Joint Managing Trustees S. Nandakumar Pradeep and S. Thirumoorthy, along with A.K. Velusamy, Administrative Officer of the Nandha Technical Campus, congratulated and appreciated the faculty members and students who organised the seminar.
