The Faculty Development Programme on “Future of Textile Design: Tools, Techniques and Smart Technologies”, organized by the Department of Costume Design and Fashion at Kongu Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Erode, with financial support from the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy, was successfully conducted from August 17 to 22, 2026.
The Valedictory Ceremony was held on August 22, 2026 and was presided over by the Correspondent, Thiru. P. Sachithanandan, who delivered the presidential address and appreciated the efforts taken by the department in organizing the six-day programme. Dr. H. Vasudevan, Principal, delivered the felicitation address and highlighted the importance of continuous professional development and the adoption of emerging technologies in higher education.
Thiru. D. P. Kumar, Director, Erode Texvalley Market Limited, participated as the special guest and delivered the valedictory address. He emphasized the significance of innovation, technology, and industry–academia collaboration in shaping the future of the textile and fashion industry.
The six-day programme provided participating faculty members with valuable exposure to emerging trends in textile design, innovative tools and techniques, digital technologies, and smart technologies. Academic experts, professors, industry professionals, and trainers from reputed organizations and universities served as resource persons and shared their expertise and practical insights with the participants.
The programme successfully enhanced the knowledge, technical skills, professional competencies, and awareness of emerging technologies among the participating faculty members. The programme was coordinated by Dr. S. Manjula, Head, Department of Costume Design and Fashion, and Mr. R. Rajakumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Costume Design and Fashion.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Mr. R. Rajakumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Costume Design and Fashion.. The faculty members of the Department of Costume Design and Fashion were also present during the valedictory ceremony.
