Ozone Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has launched ‘Ozone SHIELD’, an initiative aimed at supporting the safety and welfare of doctors facing violence, harassment and medico-legal challenges. The initiative provides personal security assistance, legal support and emotional wellbeing counselling to doctors in distress. It was formally launched by Dr. Kiran Bedi (IPS), former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, who attended the event as Chief Guest.
Speaking about the initiative, Subash Sehgal, Founder and Managing Director, Ozone Pharmaceuticals Ltd., said, “The pharma industry and doctors stand together as one team serving society. Protecting the Protectors is the sole purpose of Ozone SHIELD, as a doctor under threat or trauma is a loss the entire society bears. We consider it our responsibility and commitment to give back to the medical fraternity.”
Ozone SHIELD has been conceptualised based on Sehgal’s three decades of working closely with doctors and will offer security support during threats or manhandling, legal assistance for medico-legal matters and emotional wellbeing support. Ozone’s field teams will introduce the initiative directly to doctors, beginning with gynaecologists and expanding to other specialities. Doctors can also register through the SHIELD WhatsApp Chatbot, after which the local team will connect with them.
