On the occasion of the Maha Kumbhabhishekam of Arulmigu Meenakshi Sundareshwarar Temple, Madurai, a Special Cover was released by the Department of Posts on 21.09.2026, commemorating this significant spiritual and cultural event.
The function was presided over by Neeraj P S, IPoS, Director, Postal Services, Southern Region, Madurai, who released the Special Cover commemorating the Maha Kumbhabhishekam of Arulmigu Meenakshi Sundareshwarar Temple.
The Special Cover was received by Rukmani Palanivelrajan, Chief Trustee, Arulmigu Meenakshi Amman Temple, on behalf of Chellathurai, Joint Commissioner / Executive Officer, Arulmigu Meenakshi Sundareshwarar Temple. Meyvel, Assistant Commissioner, Arulmigu Meenakshi Amman Temple, also participated in the event.
The event was attended by Shri. Ponnaiah, Senthilkumar and Smt. Sudha, Assistant Directors, Southern Region; Shri. Srinivasa Rao, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Madurai Division and Shri. Mariappan, Senior Postmaster, Madurai Head Post Office, Philatelists, Postal Employees, Temple Staff members and public also participated in the event.
The release of this Special Cover is a fitting tribute to the historical, spiritual and cultural significance of Arulmigu Meenakshi Sundareshwarar Temple, one of the most revered and iconic landmarks of Madurai.
