A ‘Mini Cardiac Medical Camp and CPR Awareness Camp’ is going to be conducted on 24.09.2023 (Sunday) at Walkers Club, Sundaram Park, K.K. Nagar, Madurai 625020 to commemorate the World Heart Day. This event is organized by Dr.Madhavan’s  Heart Centre and ‘Active Heart Foundation’ which is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting health and safety within our community. The primary objective is to provide essential medical services and education to the public while raising awareness about the importance of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) in saving lives during emergency.

The programme will be presided over by Dr. A.  Rathinavel, The Dean, Madurai Medical College and Hospital Madurai. Inaugural Address will be delivered by Dr. A. Mathavan, Managing Director and Senior interventional Cardiologist, Dr.Madhavan’s Heart Centre and Founder Active Heart Foundation. Dr. S. S. Annamalaisamy, Selvan Nursing Home Pvt.Ltd. and Prof. Dr. V.V.Muthuswamy, Professor of Cardiology (Retd) are the Guests of Honour. Dr. S. Sanathkumar, DrNB (CTVS), Cardio Thoracic Vascular Surgeon, Dr.Madhavan’s Heart Centre will propose vote of thanks.

The highlights of the events are: 

Awareness Rally: About 150 students and skaters will participate. The rally will start from Gandhi Museum and terminated at Sundaram Park, K.K.Nagar. They carried placards highlighting the importance of cardiac health.

Free Medical check-ups: Qualified medical professionals are on-site and will offer free health check-ups, including blood pressure monitoring, glucose testing, and basic health assessments.

CPR Demonstrations: Certified instructors will conduct CPR demonstrations and provide hands-on training to public, empowering them with life-saving skills that can be used in critical situations.

Tips for Healthy Heart: Dietician belonging to Dr.Madhavan’s Heart Centre will offer free tips for a healthy heart. Physiotherapist from the hospital will demonstrate exercises to keep the heart healthy.

Interactive Sessions: Public shall have the opportunity to interact with healthcare experts and can ask questions regarding their health concerns, fostering a sense of community well-being.
