The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Incubation (CEDI) at NIT Trichy has successfully conducted a two-day Startup Boot Camp from 27th to 28th February 2025 as part of the GENESIS Scheme of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. The boot camp witnessed participation from 22 startup teams with 50 Attendees, representing various regions across the country, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, rural institutions, student startup ideas, early-stage startups, and startups with working prototypes.
The boot camp aimed to equip early-stage innovators with essential knowledge on startup ecosystem dynamics, market research, business model development, funding strategies, legal and compliance requirements, and leadership skills. The participating startups received mentorship from industry experts, domain specialists, and startup ecosystem enablers, enhancing their journey from ideation to market readiness.
The inaugural session was graced by Dr.G. Aghila, Director, NIT Trichy & Chairperson, CEDI NITT, along with Mr. Gopu Natarajan, COO, FinBlue STPI Chennai, who delivered a keynote address on the landscape in the field of Electronics, IT, AI, and FinTech. He emphasized the role of FinBlue as a Co-incubation and Strategic Partner, continuously supporting startups together with CEDI NITT.
Throughout the two days, participants engaged in interactive sessions on Go-To-Market Strategies, Financial Planning, Leadership Development, Legal and Compliance Frameworks, and multiple demo pitching sessions with constructive feedback from expert mentors.
CEDI NITT has been identified as one of the pioneering sector-agnostic startup incubators in the region and the official Implementing Partner for MeitY's GENESIS Scheme. This milestone further strengthens CEDI’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in emerging technology domains, especially among student startups and early-stage ventures from underserved regions.

The boot camp marks a significant step in CEDI’s journey to drive inclusive innovation and startup creation in the region. The shortlisted startups from the camp will continue to receive incubation support and mentorship under the GENESIS scheme, helping them move towards prototype development, market validation, and investor readiness.
