The National Service Scheme (NSS) of Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, in association with the SOL Service Centre and Agarwal Eye Hospital, organised a two-day eye screening camp for first-year students on July 8 and 9, 2026.
The programme was presided over by Principal Dr. Ramasubbaiah. College Chairman Vijayaraghavan, Honorary Chairman Engineer Rajagopal, Secretary Engineer Sridhar, and Treasurer Azhwarsamy attended the event as dignitaries.
Greetings were delivered by Self-Financing Wing Director Prabhu, Dean of Student Welfare Dr. Azhagesan, and Coordinator for Student Welfare Extension Activities Silambarasan.
During the two-day camp, professors, administrative staff, and nearly 1,500 first-year students underwent comprehensive eye examinations. Medical experts also provided counselling and guidance on eye care and vision health.
Earlier, NSS Programme Officer Dr. Venkatesh Bharathi welcomed the gathering, while Abirami, Manager of the SOL Service Centre, delivered the vote of thanks.
The camp was organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College as part of its student welfare and community health initiatives.
